Seated at the large wooden table with friends and family, guests settle into the heavy leather chairs whilst clinking glasses of warming wine and looking out over the Solaise through an incredible glass panoramic window. This may be an apartment, but it has the feel of a fine chalet adorned with furs, heavy stones, aged woods and soft leathers. It’s a place to come together to share stories around the warm fire and soothe aching muscles in the outdoor jacuzzi - but mainly, it’s the best place for those serious about skiing. Being a new build in Petit Alaska, Castor Apartment is a rare find and its carers went to all lengths to ensure its unique position in Val d’Isere. Sitting in the hamlet of Petit Alaska, guests benefit from a quiet space far from the hum of crowds, yet just 400 meters from access to 300 kilometers of slopes. Inside, three double bedrooms keep guests cozy at night, whilst the open plan kitchen and dining area bring them together for mealtimes and evening laughter. As the apartment is self-catering, the kitchen is fully equipped with all guests need to whip together a warming meal, followed by a soak in the jacuzzi before sinking into layers of soft cushions on the sofas. All this, of course, for an amazing night’s sleep before heading to the slopes again in the morning. After all, skiing is the purpose here. This bespoke apartment is just the cherry on top.
